Our Story

Azur Pure Refillable Skincare Australia offers a range of Aussie-made ocean-friendly natural & organic plastic free skincare products. Azur products come in glass or aluminium bottles and jars with re-usable pumps, packaged with paper and cardboard. Empties can be sent back freepost as part of our closed loop system.

– What does Azur Pure Skincare do?

Azur Pure Skincare creates natural refillable skincare for the face, hands and body. All our products are packaged and transported sustainably with no single use plastics, and we offer a freepost returns system for empty bottles and jars.

– Why did you start Azur Pure Skincare?

I’m a nature lover with a background in the environmental sector. I’ve always loved natural products and avoided harmful chemicals and toxins. In 2018 I became more focussed on avoiding plastic waste, and was surprised to find that there were no non-plastic refillable skincare options available in Australia other than Castile soap at a couple of health food stores. I wanted a nice natural effective face wash and moisturiser packaged in glass or aluminium that could be refilled.

So I decided to create a solution. Living by the beach in Bondi, I had a vision of a blue ocean themed skincare range. I chose the name Azur as it brings to mind sparkling clean blue oceans, which is the goal of the business.

I spent several months researching ingredients (especially naturally blue ones!) and did a natural skincare formulation course. I worked with local cosmetic chemists and suppliers for the products and packaging.

It all started on Bondi Beach markets in March 2019 with just four products – natural face wash and moisturiser, and hand & body wash and lotion. We now have 14 products, and each has a mini trial / travel version.

– What makes your products unique or special? 

Azur is the first full-range circular skincare brand in Australia with freepost empties returns! Our entire range is gentle, highly effective and fully closed loop.

Azur products are made on the New South Wales Coast with premium Australian natural and organic ingredients. They’re designed to restore skin’s elasticity, texture and radiance with the best botanical actives like plumping Bakuchiol (‘natural retinol’), hydrating Squalane (vegan squalene) soothing Blue Tansy and detoxifying Blue Spirulina.

Azur celebrates the natural wonders of Australia with quality locally-sourced botanical ingredients and responsible packaging. The dotted circles and waves of the Azur logo and branding reflect the circular refill system designed to protect our oceans.
