8000Kicks have brought to the market the most ecofriendly, durable and comfortable hemp shoes ever built.

  • Materials: The upper part of the shoe is made from strong, durable hemp fabric. The soles are crafted from algae-based foam (in partnership with Bloom Foam) and natural rubber, making these shoes more sustainable compared to what's currently on the market. Please note: the algae-based foam is a blend of natural algae biomass and synthetic polymers, so the shoes are not compostable yet at their end of life. We are working on further developments in this area!
  • Waterproofing: The shoes are waterproofed using a specialized wax coating rather than traditional PFC/PFAS coatings, making them safe and environmentally friendly.
  • Plastic-Free Packaging: we ship products in recycled and recyclable cardboard, ensuring no plastic is used in the packaging process.

    • Are all of our products free of palm oil and its derivatives, also free of responsibly sourced palm oil (RSPO)? At I’M PLASTIC FREE we believe that unfortunately you cannot fill a bucket of water from multiple taps, then try and separate the water showing which tap that water portion has come from. We want to fully fight deforestation as a way to preserve wildlife and minimise global warming.
    • Are your product cruelty-free, i.e. not tested on animals?
    • Are your products vegan?

    5. Product Materials

    • Are your products free of virgin plastic themselves or in some cases have a minimal amount of plastic (i.e. a plastic pump in a cosmetic glass / aluminium bottle < 20%)?
    • Are your products manufactured with recycled / upcycled materials, including recycled plastic, in order to divert them from landfill (i.e. swimwear from recycled fibres)?
