I’m Plastic Free Interview with ABC News about Darwin’s Plastic Ban

ABC news approached us to answer a few questions about the development of the Darwin Plastic Wise Ban campaign which was introduced in January 2019. Single use plastic items including disposable coffee cups, smoothie cups, lids, straws, cutlery, stirrers, plates, bowls, and takeaway containers were all phased out from use on council land from the 1st January 2019. This included a ban on any deliberate release of helium balloons.

However, there are concerns that the Darwin retailers are not prepared for the Territory wide single-use plastic bans that will be legislated from 2025.

Watch the ABC News video interview with I’m Plastic Free Founder Simona Paganetto to discover why.
