We were, and we have provided our feedback, asking if they’d consider moving away from plastic. The answer was, not to worry about the plastic. It is food safe. Really, in 2025?

We’ve finally found a steaming basket that has been specifically designed to fit the Thermomix TM5, TM6, and the TM7. It is made of rustless 304 stainless steel and is dishwasher safe. It also comes with a stainless steel insert to steam multiple ingredients simultaneously.

3. Plastic-free Thermomix Bowl Scourer
We found durable Thermomix bowl scrubbers that are made with 100% cotton-base and a non-plastic, hardened coating derived from tree resin. They can be used without fearing to damage the stainless steel surface, and can be washed in the dishwasher.
